Jane studied Modern Languages at Stirling University, taught English in Vienna then travelled the world as cabin crew before making the life-changing decision to become an actor. The Start of Something Wonderful was inspired by this risky career change! She has appeared in Calendar Girls, The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-time, Deathtrap, Witness for the Prosecution and True West in London's West End. Her latest novel, A Scottish Teashop in Napoli was launched in July 2025 and is a love letter to her 2 favourite places in the world. She is currently writing The Unexpected Flatmate which features the tremendous work of the RAF Benevolent Fund.
