James Stevenson was aged 5 at the outbreak of WW2 and now lives in Devon UK. He trained an RAF jet pilot during a two-year spell of National Service and was awarded his Wings in 1954 at the height of the Cold War. After qualifying at the Royal Agricultural University he managed farms in UK and Portugal, founded an import/export company and retired to Devon UK where he now lives with his wife. Drawing on his experiences as a pilot, James’s first novel “Dartmouth Conspiracy” was published in 1999, followed by his second “Fly the Storm”. His auto biographical “Stalin’s Had It Now!” came out in 2014. All James Stevenson’s books have been taken up by Large Print and Audio publishers. In his spare time he works as a freelance translator from Portuguese to English. Aged seven he witnessed an air raid on his home town during WW2, which inspired him to write his first novel, a fascinating blend of fact and fiction, which has been awarded the coveted B.R.A.G. Medallion by the American Book Readers' Appreciation Group. James's second novel FLY THE STORM follows the fortunes of a female pilot tasked to deliver fighter aircraft from factory to squadron. This thriller has also been awarded the B.R.A.G. Medallion. James Stevenson's third book STALIN'S HAD IT NOW! is a light-hearted account of his time in the Royal Air Force, concentrating on flying training in Canada and a memorable two-week break in the USA during the summer of 1953.
