James Maendel Registered Investment Advisor: Maendel Wealth A native of Hastings, England, James lives with his wife Nicole and children in the lakes district of S.E. Michigan. Together, in 1999, they founded Maendel Wealth, a thriving boutique Investment Advisory firm in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan. James is a credentialed Behavioral Financial Advisor BFA™ and also holds the Accredited Asset Management Specialist (AAMS) professional designation. Nicole holds a Masters in Business Administration and a Bachelors of Science in Organizational Management from Walsh College. Factor Investing is a natural fit for a money manager seeking to optimize stability and outperformance. James interest in Factor Investing developed through the process of guiding clients through the dot-com bubble, the 'Great Recession' -the unprecedented global financial and housing crisis of 2008, and the Global Pandemic. Navigating these "black swan" events kindled his passion for enhancing predictability of investment performance by studying historically persistent metrics, the essence of Factor Investing. James holds the Uniform Securities Agent State Law (Series 63) license, and the Uniform Investment Adviser Law (Series 65) license, along with Life, Health, and Variable Contracts Insurance licenses. He was awarded the ACCREDITED INVESTMENT FIDUCIARY (AIF®) Designation from the Center for Fiduciary Studies, the standards-setting body for Fi360 and the US first full-time training and research facility for fiduciaries. Drawing on his experience living in the United States, Europe, and the Middle East, James employs an inquisitive, globally-informed approach to wealth management and investing. As one of the first Investment Advisors to earn the DACFP/RIADAC Certificate in Blockchain and Digital Assets from the New York Institute of Finance, James has been honored to be accepted as a member of the Digital Assets Council in conjuction with the NY Institute of Finance. A Multi-Year winner of the FIVE STAR WEALTH MANAGER award, James and his firm Maendel Wealth have been featured in Hour Detroit and Detroit Business Magazine, as well as receiving the 2018 Best of Bloomfield Hills Award in the Financial Planner category. James also enjoys helping young people to get excited about the positive impact investing and financial intelligence can have in their lives, by participating as a volunteer judge in the annual SIFMA Stock Market Challenge and Essay Contest. He enjoys studying markets and helping people to understand and benefit from them in ways that make a meaningful and lasting impact in their futures.
