Dr. James Li, a former assistant professor of medicine at Harvard Medical School, has taught and practiced emergency medicine since 1997. He also has worked as a general practitioner and surgeon throughout Africa, including Kenya, Sierra Leone, Malawi, and Ethiopia. He has won numerous medical teaching awards and is the author of dozens of medical studies, chapters, and books. He lives off-the-grid with his wife year-round on an island several miles off the coast of Maine.
