James Wright was born in St. Louis, Missouri, and raised in Springfield, Illinois. From an early age, he demonstrated a strong sense of purpose and discipline, pursuing his goals with focus and consistency. His involvement in church life began at age eleven and played a formative role in shaping his values, communication skills, and sense of responsibility.

James attended Morehouse College, where he broadened his global perspective through a year of study in Japan, fulfilling a long-held personal goal of learning the Japanese language. He later built a twenty-year career in the financial services industry, working in roles both within the United States and internationally. His professional background includes senior leadership experience in marketing and business operations.

Following a diagnosis of ALS, James transitioned from corporate life into business ownership, operating a franchise day spa in the Philadelphia area for several years. He later relocated with his wife and children to the Tampa Bay area, where family life became a central focus of his daily routine.

James is an advocate for ALS awareness and education, engaging in public speaking and community initiatives focused on health literacy and early self-awareness. A first-time author, he writes candidly about his personal experiences with ALS and the lessons learned through resilience, adaptability, and perseverance. He remains actively involved in faith-based community life alongside his family.
