James Felix is a former soldier and recently retired police officer who served for 30 years in frontline policing roles, including firearms, surveillance, and major investigations. He now lives in the Shropshire hills, where he writes full time. He is the author of the Nelson action-thriller series and the British police procedural Mad, Sad, Bad. Drawing on decades of operational experience, his novels combine authentic detail with fast-paced action and gritty realism. He is currently writing Traitor, the sixth Nelson novel and Nelson’s biggest adventure yet. Away from writing, James plays cricket for his local club, follows the Green Bay Packers with near-religious devotion, and continues his ongoing quest to perfect authentic Italian cooking. Most days, however, are spent writing, walking the dogs, and finding new ways to get his characters into trouble.
