Poet, a preacher of the word, community liaison, community activist, servant of the living God, James C. Richmond is a prolific, evocative spoken-word artist who – through his poetry – enlarges our comprehension of the world around us and helps us to grasp our life’s journey. He champions community empowerment in everything he puts his heart into and sets his mind on, promoting and propagating culture and urging all to embrace their religious destiny. Through his endeavors and poetry, Richmond encourages us to tap into our rich cultural identities, both individually and collectively, to develop a better understanding and appreciation of each other. He is a consummate performer of his poetry with a career that spans over 30 years. He has been a featured writer in several community newspapers and magazines in the United States and the Caribbean over the years, contributing articles and poetry to a variety of publications. Richmond has self-published three other books of poetry: namely, “On the Window of My Skin” (2006), “Where the Pomeroon Meets” (1997), and “Reflections of Today” (1990).
