James Brian Kerr is an American author who writes about the search for an authentic and meaningful life in a digital world. His literary fiction, poetry, and essays explore enduring questions of faith, freedom, belonging, and the deep connection between the human spirit and the natural world.

Kerr is the author of the inspirational memoir, The Long Walk Home, and the illustrated middle-grade fable, Elysium! Elysium! A former high-tech communications executive, his fiction and poetry have appeared in the Saturday Evening Post, the Sewanee Review, and other literary journals. An avid outdoorsman and fly fisherman, his personal reflections on nature, family, spirituality, and contemporary culture can be found in his blog, Peaceable Man, and his Substack column, Poor James’s Almanack.

Whether writing for adults or young readers, Kerr is drawn to stories that illuminate the human experience and lift the veil on everyday moments when we are transported above the mundane into the transcendental. He takes pride in writing that communicates eternal truths in a plain, accessible style.
