J.S. Wood has a secret wish to live in Willy Wonka's chocolate factory. She imagines a world surrounded by sweet smelling delicacies and rooms of creativity. She would definitely add a massive library to the factory so she could read fantasy series and she would add a banquet hall fit for royalty so she could host lovely parties. Her first book series, "Elena Ransom", is a dystopian fantasy adventure that takes place approximately 300 years in the future and follows Elena Ransom’s journey after her 13th birthday, when she is required to go to a military-style boarding school. Elena leaves for school with her best friend, Austin Haddock, and their other friend Gribbin Pigg (whose nickname is Pigg). Each of the books completes one year of Elena’s training at Grimsby School of the Republic where she struggles in each book to unravel the mystery of her world. This is a truly coming of age story that deals with making friends, death of parents, death of classmates, handling bullies, problem solving, betrayal, and numerous other topics throughout the course of the (eventual) 6 books. You can read more about the author and the "Elena Ransom" book series at http://www.jswood.org. She is also currently working on a new series called "The Meridian Memoirs", which are a series of novellas being release in 2021. These short stories are going to be the base of an eventual larger work of novels entitled "The Lords of the Meridian". When J.S. is not writing, editing, or reading she can be found playing house elf to her husband and children. You can follow J.S.
