Joe Negron is an aviator, sailor, businessman, community leader, and a life long student of personal growth and human relationships. Throughout his life, he has balanced professional success with a deep commitment to family, service, and continous learning.

A licensed pilot and former search-and-rescue pilot with the Civil Air Patrol, USAF Auxiliary, Joe has spent decades navigating both the skies and the sea. His passion for sailing has led to offshore and coastal cruising, competitive yacht racing, and leadership roles within the sailing community. He is a Past Commodore of Seal Beach Yacht Club and the Newport Ocean Sailing Association and has served in numerous volunteer leadership positions dedicated to promoting sailing, seamanship, and community involvement.

Professionally, Joe built a successful career in business and technology while maintaining a lifelong interest in leadership, integrity, and personal development. Beyond his professional accomplishments, he is an avid genealogist whose research into family history and ancestry spans more than four decades.

The experiences that shaped this book were not learned in classrooms alone. They were forged through marriage, fatherhood, loss, leadership, friendship, aviation, sailing, and the challenges that accompany the second half of life. Following the unexpected loss of his wife, Joe began a deeper reflection on purpose, mortality, resilience, and what it means to live with integrity when life does not unfold according to plan.

In this book, he draws upon those experiences to explore the questions many men face as they grow older: questions of identity, purpose, relationships, legacy, and personal responsibility. His writing reflects a belief that character is formed not through theory, but through experience, and that the measure of a life is found not only in what we accomplish, but in what we leave behind.

Joe lives in Southern California, where he continues to sail, fly, volunteer, research family history, and enjoy time with his children, grandchildren, friends, and the communities that have enriched his life.
