J. G. Jenkinson is a father, history nerd and a wind turbine technician. He emerged from the burning wreckage of his scholastic career unscathed, but with very little to show for it. This led him to the recruiter’s office and over a decade with the British Army. As promised, he saw the world, just not the bits of it that he'd hoped. The army taught him how to iron and eventually, how to fix things. After a couple of trips to Helmand, the novelty wore off and he sought a living on the Canadian Prairies as an agricultural machinery mechanic. He wrestled steers, drove a pickup, and fished on frozen rivers. After an interesting year running a farm, he returned to England and got into offshore wind. Now he splits his time between the North Sea and an intentional community Cornwall that he shares with his wife, daughters, five cows, 24 sheep, lots of chickens, many like-minded friends and hopefully some pigs. Come and visit his campsite near Bude.
