I’m J. Andrew Burkey, a curious and obsessive researcher who’s spent years digging into history, psychology, and cutting-edge science to better understand how the world—and the human body—really works. I live with scopophobia—a fear of being watched and of posting pictures of myself online—so you won’t find me on stage giving speeches or chasing the spotlight. My latest and most ambitious book, JUST DRINK IT, explores how ordinary water can be transformed in minutes into a diabetes-fighting superdrink—a scientifically backed, at-home approach designed to address root causes, not just symptoms. Written from both personal experience as a diabetic and years of deep scientific research, the book focuses on molecular hydrogen (H₂), a breakthrough molecule shown in studies to help combat two major drivers of diabetes and metabolic dysfunction: systemic inflammation and oxidative stress. Backed by decades of global research and leading scientists, JUST DRINK IT cuts through hype to deliver clear, practical guidance grounded in real science. Previously, I released Unlock Your Hippocampus: Deep in Your Brain Lies the Seahorse-Shaped Secret to Insane Memory, Rapid Learning, and Razor-Sharp Focus, which dives into how the hippocampus can be trained, protected, and optimized to sharpen memory, accelerate learning, and improve focus in daily life. I’m also the author of We’re Full of Plastic, an in-depth examination of one of the most overlooked health crises of our time: microplastics in our blood, brains, and even unborn children. Backed by emerging research, the book exposes how these invisible particles enter our food, water, air, and bodies—and why it matters more than most people realize. Over the years, I’ve written a wide range of books, from SWARM: Drones Attack America and The Psychology of Obedience – Why We Comply, to Flying Syringes and The Empowered Path. Whether I’m writing nonfiction or speculative thrillers, my goal remains the same: to blend compelling storytelling with insights that make people stop, think, and see the world differently.
