Inger Johnson was born and raised in Cali, Colombia, and immigrated to the United States at age fifteen following a period of political unrest in Colombia. Her mother is American and her father, Colombian.

She’s a recovering banker and financial planner. Along the way, she earned advanced degrees, lived abroad in places including Austria, Chile, and Uruguay, and collected enough life experience to fill more than one novel.

But the role she treasures most is being surrounded by a loving family. She credits her parents and brother for giving her strong roots, unwavering love, and the moral compass that continues to guide her life. She is also deeply grateful to be a wife and mom to the best husband and son in the world.

Now based in Arizona, Inger serves on her local school district governing board and loves taking long hikes on the Arizona trails, reading, having lunch with friends, podcasting, and coming up with crazy ideas of what she’d like to do next.

Veiled Halos draws on her familiarity with Latin America, particularly Colombia, as well as her understanding of institutional power and the human costs that can lie beneath public virtue.
