I’m Iaroslav Dombrovskyi, a Ukrainian-born author with education in engineering and a surfer on the National Ukrainian Surfing Team (2021–2025, with 4 World Surfing Championship appearances). Born in Kyiv in 1986, I navigated the post-Soviet dashing '90s childhood before earning a master's degree in welding technologies from the National Technical University of Ukraine. I worked as a waiter, delivery driver, and welder. Later I relocated to Barcelona and made a living as a nightclub promoter. After 2 years, I moved to Los Angeles, where I got a job in a department store while pursuing modeling and acting. After a transformative period of extensive reading during COVID—including classics from Asimov, Herbert, Dostoevsky, Orwell, and others—I channeled my engineering background and passion for morally grounded storytelling into science fiction. Disillusioned with modern Hollywood and media, I moved to North Florida and published the first book in the “Space Investigators" series.
