I’m a sports journalist and columnist with the Daily Mail and Mail on Sunday. I've been a reporter for around 30 years, 20 of those on The Independent. I am author of 'Quiet Genius', the biography of the legendary Liverpool FC manager Bob Paisley, which was shortlisted for the 2017 Willam Hill Sports Book of the Year, and 'Tinseltown', the story of my home town, Wrexham, and the effect on the place of having two Hollywood stars buy the local football club. It's as much 'town' as 'tinsel'. The book explains the town behind the hugely successful Disney documentary and examines the bond between a football club and a place.
