Hosea Williams, Jr., (1978- ) was born April 4 in Kinston, North Carolina, where he attended Kinston City Public Schools. For the past seventeen years, he has taught English, literature, and composition courses at the elementary, high school, and collegiate levels. His first book of found haiku, "By a Prophet: A Collection of Christian Haiku (Volume 1)" was published in 2016. In 2017, his second book, "By a Prophet: A Collection of Christian Haiku (Volume 2)" was independently published. Williams is the recipient of numerous awards, including two New York University Teaching Fellowships: War and Morality (2008) and Literature and the Environment (2010).
