Heather Hepler is the author of seven novels for young adults, including The Cupcake Queen, Love? Maybe., and Frosted Kisses. Her fiction explores identity, belonging, relationships, and the unexpected turns that reshape the lives we thought we were going to have.

After years of writing contemporary fiction for young readers, Heather is now expanding into fantasy and speculative fiction for older audiences. Her recent work combines the emotional intimacy of her earlier novels with darker magic, complicated relationships, and characters finding their footing when the world they knew changes beneath them.

Heather has lived on the California coast, in interior Alaska, in central Mexico, and in East Texas. She now lives in Virginia’s Blue Ridge Mountains, where she writes and teaches creative writing.
