After twelve years' service in the Coldstream Guards, Harry Bucknall worked in the oil and mining industry and as a consultant in the Middle East. The adventure, romance and heritage of travel have captivated him since early childhood, spent exploring the expanse of Poole Harbour in a mirror dinghy. Nurtured by extensive journeying through the Indian sub-continent and postings to the Far East, in 2006, he travelled from Venice to Istanbul - In the Dolphin's Wake, the tale of his 5,500 mile journey through the Greek Archipelago, was published in 2011. Harry’s second book, Like a Tramp, Like a Pilgrim, came out in 2014, after he completed the 1,400 mile pilgrimage from London to Rome across Europe on foot. Host of the Army Benevolent Fund's General Talk podcast and presenter of BLESMA, the Limbless Veterans's Human Not Heroic podcast, Harry has also produced theatre on the London Fringe, sat on the Olivier Awards Panel and reviewed theatre for Arts Council, London.
