Harry Bucknall was born in 1965 and brought up in Dorset. After 12 years service in the British Army, he worked in the oil and mining industries and as a consultant in the Middle East. He has also produced theatre on the London Fringe, sat on the Olivier Awards Panel and reviewed theatre for Arts Council, London. IN THE DOLPHINS WAKE, Harry's first book was published by Bene Factum in July 2011. In 2012, Harry set off on foot from St Paul's Cathedral down the ancient Via Francigena through England, France, Switzerland and Italy to St Peter's in Rome. LIKE A TRAMP, LIKE A PILGRIM, the tale of his 1,400 mile journey that took him on many adventures - planned and unplanned - was published by Bloomsbury in July 2014. Continuing his ad hoc series of journeys across Europe, Harry spent 2017 year travelling over 4,500 miles the length and breadth of the British Isles for his new book, A ROAD FOR ALL SEASONS, which will be published by Little, Brown in early Spring 2019. As a freelance travel writer he regularly contributes to the international and national press.
