I was born in Walnut, California, and grew up on the Central Coast, where open skies and hard work shaped my spirit early on. Life wasn’t always easy, and growing up in a turbulent home taught me resilience long before most kids learned to drive. By fifteen, I had already finished high school and stepped straight into real life, caring for horses on ranches, serving the elderly as a Certified Nursing Assistant, and later protecting others through ten years of service as a California Correctional Officer. Each season of my life, whether in stables, hospitals, or prison walls, taught me lessons in courage, compassion, and faith. My favorite scripture, Jeremiah 29:11, reminds me daily that even when life feels uncertain, God’s plans are never without purpose. At nineteen, I married my husband, Chuck, and together we’ve built more than homes; we’ve built a legacy. As a Realtor, Licensed General Building Contractor, and mother of eleven children (and grandmother to twelve), my world is full of laughter, chaos, and love. Somewhere in that whirlwind of family, faith, and construction dust, I found time to write The Dragon of Happy Tails: Carter's Quest , a story born from imagination, faith, and the belief that magic and miracles still exist. Today, I continue to build houses, stories, and memories, each one rooted in hope and courage. And if you ever see me with a cup of cocoa in one hand and a notebook in the other, don’t be surprised. I’m just making sure the magic never runs out.
