Gil Glade is a retired U.S. Navy SEAL with over 22 years of service in Special Operations. Throughout seven combat deployments, Gil specialized in survival tactics and team leadership in high-pressure environments before retiring in 2016 as a Senior Chief Petty Officer. During his final years of service, Gil served as both a SEAL instructor at the BUD/S training program and on the Navy Recruiting Command's Special Warfare assessment team. These roles gave him unique expertise in preparing candidates for military service and mastering the Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery (ASVAB). Gil's first book, *ASVAB Mastery: A Visual Approach to Military Entrance Exams*, applied his innovative color-coded teaching methods to help aspiring service members. His primary goal across all his work is to make military test preparation and survival training guides easy and understandable for anyone to master. With *The Prepper's Survival Bible*, he brings this same accessible visual approach to civilian emergency readiness, emphasizing practical solutions over theory—a philosophy shaped by his combat experience where clear information meant the difference between life and death. Gil lives with his wife Rebecca, a former military nurse, and their three children—Emma, Nathan, and Tyler—on their Montana homestead. The family practices the sustainable living and emergency preparedness principles that Gil teaches in his books and workshops across the country. His motto encapsulates his approach to both survival and life: "Preparation isn't paranoia—it's peace of mind."
