Gail Morgan McRae grew up desperately poor on a small tobacco farm in rural southeastern North Carolina. Her family walked to church every Sunday they were all well enough to go. Her parents drilled into her and her brothers that to get out of poverty they had to get a good education, work hard, and have faith that God would put them where He wanted them to be. They didn't get it when they were little, but as they matured they understood. They worked hard to pull themselves out of poverty - and with God's grace, they did. Gail has been writing since she was a child in rural Robeson County NC. Raised by her hardworking parents, she and her two brothers lived in a tiny home with barely enough room to move around. Though poor, they seldom though about it as her family life was filled with love and laughter. They didn't have a phone, car, or television. But there were always books to read and the importance of getting a good education was drilled into them. Gail’s love of the written word has been evident throughout her life; she started her career in literature around age 18 as a children’s Librarian in her hometown. She put herself through college and grad school, earning a Bachelor’s degree in Communicative Arts and a Master’s in English Education. She’s now the author of The Reglon Empire Series, which currently consists of three published books; but at least one more is on the way. She and her husband are the parents of three amazing children and three grandchildren. Rounding out the family are their pets – a mischievous rescue dog named Louise and a feaarless kitty named Tammy. While it's true that Gail Morgan McRae has been writing most of her life, it was not until she was in her thirties that she began to write fiction, specifically fantasy with a smattering of science fiction sprinkled in. She has worked many jobs trying to help her family to make ends meet, but finds that writing is the most challenging and satisfying. She says though the trilogy is done, the series must go on. Book 4 (as yet unnamed) will continue the stories of many of the characters the readers have come to love - or hate - as the case may be. This fourth book came to her while she was writing Dunmyrr. She hopes to complete it within the next year or so. Creedor, Hellritch, and Dunmyrr, the first three books in the series, have received 5-star ratings from Readers Favorites reviewer Tracy A. Fischer. These are the first professional reviews of the trilogy published by Hickory Grove Press (2015). A previous edition of Creedor also received a great review from Caroline Barker (UK), author of areadersreviewblog.
