Gabriel has recently made his first step into the world of creative writing with his debut novel, Banebirth. Being a lifelong reader of literary fiction, horror, and coming-of-age stories, he dreamed of telling his own full-length story. Life’s unexpected turns (and the special books read along the way) reawakened and affirmed his passion for creative writing, leading him on the pursuit of exploring stories dealing with the complexities of illness and disability, race, queer identity, religion, environmental shifts, and the underexplored emotions related to the intersections of those experiences. Though Banebirth is his first novel, he hopes to continue writing more stories that take on those topics. Outside of writing, Gabriel is a scientist with a background in immunology and vaccine research. He enjoys life in Maryland, where he was born and raised. When he’s not writing, he can be found trying plant-based cuisines, volunteering in his community, going for runs and hikes, enjoying musical theater, exploring museums and other artistic venues, and dabbling in painting and other crafts.
