Felix Bruckner escaped to England from Czechoslovakia (now the Czech Republic) in 1939, just before the start of the Second World War, and now lives in Kingston upon Thames, Surrey. He qualified in Medicine from the London Hospital Medical College in 1960, worked as a Consultant Physician at a London Teaching Hospital and Senior Lecturer in Medicine at the University of London, as well as practising privately in Harley Street, until his retirement. He is a past President of the Section of Rheumatology and Rehabilitation of the Royal Society of Medicine. He paused on his climb up the hospital ladder, to work as an asistant surgeon on the SS Canberra for an around-the-world voyage, and his experiences then formed the basis for his first novel, "Death on the Koh-i-Noor". He began writing fiction only after retiring from medicine in 2005, to fill a void in his life. His first three novels, "Death on the Koh-i-Noor", "In the Footsteps of the Whitechapel Slasher", and "Death on the House", constitute the Edwin Scott Trilogy; "Peril Beneath the Flightpath" is Felix Bruckner's fourth novel; "The Metabolic Murders" is his fifth novel.
