Felicia Ortiz has served on the Nevada State Board of Education for the last 8 years, she has been President of the Board for the last 3 years. She also sits on several other education boards. When she is not volunteering her time, she is senior management consultant for a large global consulting organization. In her chapter she explores how her childhood and upbringing have led her to these leadership roles and helped her to become an influential and trusted member of her community. She takes us on her journey into education advocacy and gives us her Heaven on Earth vision for the education system in our country. Felicia is a Las Vegas native, twice over! She was born in Las Vegas, New Mexico (the Original) and currently resides in Las Vegas, Nevada! She finds peace and rejuvenation in nature, strolling with her beloved fur baby, Milagro. Her soul finds its sanctuary in her tiny home nestled on her ranch in New Mexico, a perfect retreat to recharge and stay grounded.
