Ethan Lohr is a husband, father, and financial planner dedicated to helping retirees turn their savings into a secure, fulfilling retirement. Early in his career, he watched his father, Greg, guide families through retirement and saw firsthand both the financial and emotional hurdles they faced. With Greg’s big personality and infectious joy, his trusting approach naturally led clients toward the secure retirement they were seeking. As a young advisor, Ethan entered an era shifting toward collaboration, where advisors and clients designed plans together. His mission was to take his father’s approach and build a framework that supported this partnership. Many iterations later, with the Lord’s help, a simple whiteboard sketch of “buckets” became the Four Buckets Retirement Income Strategy®. Together, Ethan and Greg refined this practical yet powerful system to help retirees confidently use and enjoy their savings while easing the common fears retirement brings. Based in Charlottesville, Virginia, their firm, Lohr & Company, has been serving families for more than 30 years.
