Ethan Gallogly, PhD (“Panda Po”), has been an outdoors leader with the Sierra Club, the Cal Hiking and Outdoors Society, the Outdoors Club of Southern California, and the Davis Hiking & Backpacking Group. His boots have covered countless miles, including the John Muir Trail, High Sierra Trail, Theodore Solomons Trail, and more than half of the 2,650-mile Pacific Crest Trail. The award-winning audiobook edition of his novel The Trail has earned more than 450 listener reviews and a 4.5-star rating for both story and performance. His Kindle edition has been a consistent bestseller in its categories on Amazon. Ethan served as a reviewer for the Wilderness Press guides Sierra North, Sierra South, and Yosemite National Park, and has read nearly every book on the history of the Sierra Nevada. He has also traveled extensively in mainland China, is fluent in Mandarin, and enjoys reading ancient Chinese poetry and philosophy. His future hiking plans include the Camino in Spain, the GR-10 in France, and the full length of both the Appalachian and Pacific Crest Trails. He is currently at work on his second novel.
