Erin Lale is a gythia (priestess) in the religion Asatru. Lale owned The Science Fiction Store in Las Vegas, published Berserkrgangr Magazine, and was acquisitions editor at Eternal Press. She writes the Gnosis Diary: Life as a Heathen blog, reviews books for Eternal Haunted Summer Magazine, owns the Asatru Facebook Forum, and started the Heathen Visibility Project. Lale's first paying job was farming, and her first volunteer work was as street actress and prop mistress in a Renfaire guild, both at age 12. In high school she won the Double Ruby Award from the National Forensic League. In college she helped found the UC Santa Cruz campus pagan club Circle of the 13 Moons. Lale led the Sage Women Drum Circle, was on the planning committee for Las Vegas Pagan Pride Day, and served on the Southern Nevada Adult Mental Health Advisory Board. She invented technical processes in iDEN and CDMA wireless communications technology. She has won recipe contests, contests for science fiction convention hall costuming, and an award for a political campaign commercial. She was a regular contributor to Perihelion Science Fiction, and originated the science fiction Time Yarns Universe. The martial arts have been a big part of her life. As a child she studied Shaolin Sho Shu Kung Fu Way of the Beast at Lale's Kung Fu Academy, in her 20s she studied Bersarkrgangr, and in her 40s her companion Tom got her into target shooting. She lives in Henderson, Nevada, where she ran for public office twice and was founding chairman of City Lights Artists' Co-op. Her arts are sunprinting, fiber art, and photography. She lives with her cat Happy. Until 2020, she and her mom Meta lived there together. Erin and her mom were members of the Ethnic Express Folk Dancers. She also enjoys gardening, cooking, and swimming.
