Emily McQuinn was born and raised in County Kilkenny, Ireland, but now resides in the USA. Growing up in the beautiful Irish countryside, she discovered from a young age, a strong affinity with animals - both wild and domestic - and has always taken a keen interest in issues connected with animal welfare. She has also devoted much of her time studying the bond between humans and animals, and the important role it plays in our psychological and physical wellbeing. Emily lives in California with her husband, three children, two dogs, four cats and a menagerie of wild animals that enjoy regular visits to their backyard. When she isn’t writing and studying, Emily enjoys snowboarding with her children, hiking in the hills, and sampling fine Irish whiskies.
