Emily Franchini is a poet, novelist, and mental health advocate. She began writing at an early age and won the Poetry.com Editor’s Choice Award in 2008 when she was fifteen years old for her poem The Wind. Partially inspired by her own wellness journey, her debut novella, Lyra, works to inspire more mental health awareness and empower the mental health community. She plans to use its profits to assist the under-financed mental health organizations in her home state of Arkansas, where she now lives with her husband Brian and their shepherd husky mix dog Oakley (AKA Oakley-Dokely), chunky tabby cat Tim (AKA Timmy, Tomothy, TIMAEEEY, and Chunk), and their senior cat Jasmine (AKA Jazz, Pretty Girl, and Siren).
