Emily Corey worked directly with her father, Jeff Corey, on crafting "Improvising Out Loud: My Life Teaching Hollywood How To Act." Together they framed stories, delved into the history of his life, his career, his philosophy as a teacher, and wrote and edited the text. Well-versed in her father’s approach to acting and deeply aware of the blacklist as a child, Emily had invaluable information at her fingertips and a memory bank that supported the veracity and authenticity of the tale. Emily is an award-winning writer and editor for web, multi-media,and advertising as well as for books and the theater. She has received the Gold and Silver CLIO Awards, the Belding Award, the Benny Award, and the London International Advertising Award. Her writing has been selected as part of the permanent collection of The Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Fashion Archive Collection and has been honored for professional excellence in Communication Arts, Creativity Magazine, and Studio Magazine. She is co-book writer of the musical "Songs From The Tall Grass," which made its world premiere at the historic Ford’s Theatre in Washington, DC. and was awarded the National Endowment for the Arts American Masterpieces: Three Centuries of Artistic Genius Grant and the Challenge America Grant. Emily received her B.A. in American History from UC Berkeley and a Masters of Library Science from UCLA. She is currently working on a a novel called "On The Edge of Everything."
