Dr Elizabeth Shea is a Consultant Clinical Psychologist with 25 years of experience working with the eating patterns and disorders experienced by autistic and neurodivergent individuals. These include Avoidant and Restrictive Food Intake Disorder (ARFID), Pica and Rumination Disorder. She has completed research in this area, worked extensively as a clinician in the NHS and independently, has published two commissioned books and appeared on both the BBC and ITV speaking about these eating issues. She is an nationally recognised speaker across the UK and Ireland and regularly trains groups of professionals, parents and carers in how to manage these eating patterns in autistic and neurodivergent people. Dr Shea works with organisations such as the National Autistic Society and Scottish Autism and in NHS where she has held roles such as the Clinical Lead for an all-age Neurodevelopmental service. She is currently writing her 3rd book on pica and rumination disorder in autism.
