E.S. McLeod is an author and podcaster. She has written two YA novels under the name Ella McLeod: Rapunzella, Or, Don’t Touch My Hair and The Map That Led to You. These were published by Scholastic in the UK and Yellow Jacket at Little Bee in the US. She has also written a picture book for Scholastic, Goldilocs, under the same name.
Ella graduated first in her class in English Literature with Theatre at the University of Warwick. As a result, she is fascinated by bodies in spaces - how they change, how they effect change, how they are affected by desire, prejudice and violence. Her works explore themes of sexuality, race, gender, power and are, above all, centred around the terrible, wonderful things that people will do for love.
When she's not being serious about the above, she can be found being silly about animals (both real and mythological) as the co-host of Comfort Creatures on the Maximum Fun Network. She lives in South London with her fiancé and their Bengal cat, Princess Persephone.
