You don't need to know who he is to know whether what he's saying is true. You just need to read his words with an open mind. Don't engage in the credentialist logical fallacy: "Well, he's not a doctor." "Yes, he is." "Well, he's not a surgeon." "Yes, he is." "Well, he's not a heart surgeon." "Yes, he is." "Well, he's not a congenital cardiothoracic surgeon educated at Johns Hopkins." "No, he isn't. You're right." "SEE! That means he has no idea what he's talking about and I can safely disregard everything I don't want to hear from him." Don't hide from the truth in the weeds of identity and credentialism. Read and see for yourself whether his ideas hold up. If your mind is open and not cluttered with "well he/she only said this/that because they're (insert reductionist stereotype)," you are much more likely to learn something.
