He is proud to be the first author to write a book for the partners of sex addicts and to coin the term Intimacy Anorexia (the withholding of emotional, physical and spiritual intimacy in marriage). Featured as an expert guest on numerous national shows including Oprah, Dr. Phil, and Good Morning America, Dr. Weiss also holds the title of President of the American Association for Sex Addiction Therapy (AASAT), a certification training program for sex addiction, partners of sex addicts, and intimacy anorexia. Two documentaries, one by the Lifetime TV Network and also a British documentary, have been produced about his practice. In addition to reading Dr. Weiss' books, couples fly in from all over the world to attend 3 and 5-day intensives, dozens of weekly groups, and hundreds of weekly appointments led by the 17 counselors on staff at the Heart to Heart Counseling Center.
