Douglas Brouwer is a Presbyterian pastor who served churches in Wheaton, Ann Arbor, Fort Lauderdale, and Zürich, Switzerland, and later returned to Europe as interim pastor to international congregations in Lucerne and The Hague. He is the author of seven nonfiction books, including the memoir Chasing After Wind: A Pastor’s Life and, most recently, The Traveler’s Path, which received a 2026 Wilbur Award of Excellence from the Religion Communicators Council. A longtime traveler, he has led pilgrimages and study tours around the world and has walked the Camino paths of Spain and Portugal on his own.

Doug received his undergraduate degree from Calvin University and his Master of Divinity and Doctor of Ministry degrees from Princeton Theological Seminary.

His wife and frequent travel partner, Susan DeYoung, practiced law for most of her career and retired as executive director of Habitat for Humanity in Broward County, Florida.
