Dhana Raphael Michaels has been an advocate for the millions of families impacted by addiction for many years. As both the ex wife of an alcoholic and the mother of an alcoholic, she also experienced firsthand the devastating effects of addiction on families. Even though Dhana knew the affects of addiction, the ensuing years took a rather large toll on her individual psyche. After years of struggle, she finally had to file for divorce, but as tough as times have been she feels nothing but gratitude. "The experience is what made me.!" Dhana has dedicated her life to helping other families dealing with this disease, working with both youth and adults compiling everything she has learned through her own personal process and everything she knows from her professional pursuits -- combining them here and delivered in the hope that she might be able to ease some of your own pain and suffering. Dhana currently lives in New York City, where she is raising her five-year-old grandchild. In her free time, she enjoys painting and journaling.
