The inspiration for **Kyla the Syllable Detective** came from Dr. Strothers’ granddaughter, **Kyla**, whose love of school and reading inspired her to create a character who could make learning feel exciting, imaginative, and empowering. Through Kyla’s adventures, children become **Word Detectives**, solve word cases, complete reading challenges, earn Superpower Points, and discover they have reading superpowers of their own.

Dr. Strothers is also the author of **_Kyla the Syllable Detective: The Case of the Sneaky Syllables—A Reading Superpowers Adventure_**, which combines storytelling with hands-on reading practice.
