Dr. Debra Palmer, Family Nurse Practitioner, educator and wellness promoter, is the debut author of Between Wounded and Well: Lessons in Healing, a memoir. Her nursing career spans 5o years, across numerous healthcare settings, intensive care units, orthopedic settings, community clinics and in the medical mission field in Guatemala. Her peers with the California Association for Nurse Practitioners recognized her with The Bridging Healthcare Needs Award and her employer bestowed her with The Everyday Hero and a Community service award. She is a graduate of the College of St. Scholastica where she earned a BS in Nursing and the University of San Diego where she earned a master’s degree and dual doctorate degrees, a DNP and PhD in Nursing. She is a transplant from the Mid-West, residing in Northern California with her husband near their adult children and grandchildren where she enjoys hiking and gardening.
