“I look forward to reminiscing about factual events I experienced while in the thick of dilemmas or harmonious relationships and the lessons I absorbed,” says Deanna Sledge. “I wasn’t allowed as an adolescent to share my feelings, and it was very difficult as an extrovert to hold things in, but that’s exactly what I had to do, even when I felt I was bursting at the seams with my inner voice screaming to be set free. Nonetheless, I am now taking full advantage of this opportunity to allocate my thoughts on a global stage.” Ms. Sledge is a prolific writer, artist, and designer who was born in Nashville, Tennessee, the “Country Music Capital of the World,” and raised in a strict military home where the love of music was openly expressed. The former reporter holds a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Wilmington University, New Castle, Delaware. She is currently on a temporary respite from her alma mater’s MBA program to pursue other interests. If Formula 1 is racing anywhere in the world, Sledge is keeping up with the statistics. On her Twitter Feed, you will read: “You know you’re important if I: 1) miss a race for you, 2) make coffee at your place, or 3) don’t look at my phone in your presence.” Incessant talking in elementary school, a result of wanting someone to discover a terrible family secret, often led teachers to punish her with the dreaded “1,000 write-offs.” To this day, she detests writing with pencils. Ms. Sledge resides in the Washington, District of Columbia metropolitan area to keep up with her busy family.
