David Wortley FRSA has spent fifty years at the fault line where humanity meets its own inventions.

From a Lincolnshire boyhood without a telephone, a television, or a car, he grew up to witness — and shape — every major technological revolution of the modern era: from early computing and the internet to wearable health technology, digital twins, AI, and the Metaverse. Along the way he became a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts, a Visiting Researcher at Bournemouth University, a Project Supervisor at UCL's Global Business School for Health, and a keynote speaker who has addressed audiences across six continents.

At 77, on no medication and in better health than most men half his age, David doesn't just write and speak about the future of human-technology balance — he lives it. He translates complex technological change into stories that resonate with everyone from nostalgic baby boomers to tech-savvy millennials, always returning to one belief: technology must amplify humanity, not replace it.

Gadgets to God is his autobiographical account of that journey — and a warning he first sounded in 2012 that has proven uncomfortably accurate.
