David Wake was the Chairbeing of the Birmingham University Science Fiction and Fantasy Society and a member of SF fandom ever since. He started writing for the theatre in 1998 with 18 plays produced, winning awards and taking two shows to the Edinburgh Fringe. While taking an MA in Creative Writing at Birmingham City University, he was introduced to Indie Publishing. Since then, he's published SF, steampunk, comedy and 'more'... His science fiction started with I, Phone and then wrote the Thinkersphere series (Hashtag, Atcode and Plus Sign). The Derring-Do Club steampunk adventure series started with The Derring-Do Club and the Empire of the Dead, and there are now five books in the series. The Daughters of Égraine fantasy trilogy consists of The Jackdaw's Choice and The Crow's Law. His other novels are stand-alones, Crossing the Bridge, Roninko, The Murders of Conky Whallop and Dawn and Dave of the Dead. He's also co-written the Dragon Sword Trilogy. He's been a Guest of Honour at the SF conventions, ArmadaCon and Redemption. He co-founded New Street Authors with Andy Conway, which is a collective of Birmingham-based independent publishers. And he invented the drabble.
