"Writing is dreaming with your eyes open." - Dave Burns *** Dave Burns is just your typical guy with a passion for writing and a mastery of the backspace key. He began writing at a young age (as most writers do), and completed a compilation of short stories and poems at Ottawa University where he earned a Bachelor's Degree in Religion and Philosophy. He has been writing ever since, but his passion was re-sparked in the fall of 2009 when he decided to take his craft seriously. Since then, he has been very active in the entire writing process and community. In the spring on 2012, Burns founded The Ottawa Writer's Guild (www.theottawawritersguild.wordpress.com) - a collection of writers in Ottawa, KS dedicated to the love of writing. In addition to writing, he also teaches Creative Writing in the Ottawa, KS community as well as online via Skype, assists other writers as a self-publishing consultant, and has founded UNCARVED: THE LITERATURE AND ARTS MAGAZINE - a twice-annual publication showcasing the work of local authors and artists.
