Darin Gibby is the author of five books. His new novel, Light and Shadows, is the story of two estranged sisters, long-buried family secrets, and the courage it takes to face them.

His previous books include the award-winning novel Gil, The Vintage Club, Chasing Hindy, and Why Has America Stopped Inventing? His work has been featured in the Wall Street Journal and Washington Post, and he has appeared on numerous television and radio programs.

Darin is also a partner at Kilpatrick Townsend and a leading patent attorney with more than 30 years of experience securing patents for cutting-edge technologies, and he speaks frequently on intellectual property at businesses, universities, and technology forums.

An avid traveler and accomplished triathlete, he enjoys backcountry fly-fishing, skiing in the Rockies, and surfing. He and his wife, Robin, divide their time between La Jolla, California, and Vail, Colorado, and have four children.
