Dana Anspach was born in Iowa City, IA, then lived in St. Louis, MO, several cities in Florida, and Grand Junction, Colorado, before settling in Scottsdale, Arizona, in 2001. When she's not working she enjoys motorcycles and motorcycle events (she rides a Harley Softail Slim), hanging out with her dogs, a pit and a boxer/pit mix, and regular workouts at the gym. She has been practicing as a financial advisor since 1995 and is the Founder and CEO of Sensible Money, LLC, a registered investment advisory firm. From 2008 to 2017 she wrote online as About.com’s MoneyOver55 Expert, which evolved into TheBalance.com where she wrote content for their Retirement Decisions section. Currently, she contributes retirement-related content to MarketWatch. She graduated in the first class of Retirement Management Analysts(SM) in 2010, and serves on the Strategic Retirement Advisory Council for the Investments & Wealth Institute. She is also a Certified Financial Planner(TM), Kolbe Certified Consultant(TM), member of NAPFA (National Association of Personal Financial Advisors), FPA (Financial Planning Association), and IWI (Investments & Wealth Institute).
