Growing up in the Tuscan town of Lucca, Itlay, chef Damiano Carrara developed an interest in hospitality and the culinary arts. He entered the industry as a bartender and trained professionally for bartending competitions around the world, winning multiple awards, prizes, and accolades for his skills. Carrara moved to the US in 2008, where he continued working in restaurants as a bartender, and then a manager. After five years of hard work, Carrara and his brother decided to open a cafe of their own in the Los Angeles area: Carrara Pastries (there are now several locations). In 2015, Carrara participated in Food Network's Spring Baking Championship and has since appeared on a number of network shows. He was the winner of Food Networks Cutthroat Kitchen Season 11 Episode 7: "Chocotage XXL," a special guest on Food Networks Spring Baking Championship Season 2, and received 3rd on Food Network Star Season 12. Carrara can now be seen as a jude on Food Network shows, such as Halloween Baking Championship, Guy's Grocery Games, Bakers vs. Fakers, and Dessert Games, Christmas Cookie Challenge, among others, as well as Bake Off Italia. Carrara is currently filming for upcoming shows and focusing on building his business. He lives in the Los Angeles area.
