Dan has never lived a quiet or ordinary life. He has helped on operations and planning projects from Noah’s Ark to the Columbus Zoo and Zoombezi Bay, collecting stories the whole way. He sang, played guitar, and loved performing live in his younger days. He has always observed life with a question mark, which drives the people he loves a little crazy. Somewhere in the middle of all that, he managed to trade up in his earthly life by marrying Kyra, his high school sweetheart. To this day he insists he tricked her before she realized she could have done better. Together they raised three amazing adults who married spouses Dan counts as bonus children. He has always wanted to be an entrepreneur, but he waited until the kids were grown to chase it seriously. Covid did what it did to so many small businesses, but Dan believes the only way out is up. He’s now working toward opening a new digital marketing business, Lord willing, before the end of 2026. Dan is hyper‑focused when he finds something he wants to learn or figure out. His daughter and his wife can confirm this. If you’re riding in a car with him and you’re not up for a conversation about anything and everything, you’re in trouble. Writing was never the plan. Not even close. But one night, after a long father–son talk, his son Colton said, “Dad, you don’t have any hobbies. Why don’t you write those books you keep talking about?” Dan took the challenge. A few months later, the first draft was done, the story having poured out faster than he could type. Now he writes novels shaped by his faith, his love for his family, the grace he’s been shown more times than he can count, and a simple respect for the power of a good story. Lord willing, he’ll be writing for years to come.
