D'Artanya Tisdale is a lover of words. Rather it be poetry, blogs, books, or sweet nothings to fill greeting cards, she is always writing something. Being raised between Baltimore City and Jersey City, it makes sense that she prefers to write Urban Fiction. Even her poems use the dialect native to the streets. Growing up with a pastor for a father, and a mother that taught her to think for herself, the boldness in her writing is to be expected. D’Artanya creates characters that feel like someone you know. The characters feel like real people. The scenes are described so well, it puts you in the center of the room. Her dialogue in her novels jumps out and yells "hey, now”. D'artanya is well on her way to being one whose work lives on well beyond her years.
