D.A. Schneider is an author of horror and mystery based in Indianapolis, Indiana, known for blending atmospheric tension with sharp, character‑driven storytelling. After spending years pursuing a career in comic book illustration, he shifted his creative focus to writing, later working as an NFL and entertainment columnist before turning fully to fiction.

Schneider’s work spans cozy mystery, crime, and visceral horror. His recent novels include Salvation, a chilling horror/crime hybrid; Crow on the Cradle, a haunting tale steeped in folklore and dread; and Opulence and Misery, a dark, character‑driven descent into the uncanny. He also compiles and co-edits the popular GORE Halloween anthology series, where the stories explore the brutal, the bizarre, and the beautifully unsettling.

Over the course of his publishing career, Schneider has signed with KGHH Publishing (2017), co‑founded Poe Boy Publishing (2020), and later partnered with Editingle Indie House (2022) and Distinguished Skeleton Press (2025). His work continues to evolve across genres, always rooted in a fascination with the shadows people carry and the monsters they become.
