Dr. Cory B. Scott is a writer, professor, and founder of Bailey Brook Publications whose work explores identity, resilience, and the long aftermath of personal rupture. His writing focuses on what happens after crisis—when the emergency ends but the internal shift remains. Following a series of neurological events that altered his body and sense of self, his work deepened into themes of body betrayal, identity collapse, faith deconstruction, and the social pressure to perform recovery. Through the After the Breaking series and earlier works such as God’s in the Garden, he examines the hidden emotional terrain most survivor narratives skip—the quiet middle where healing is nonlinear and certainty no longer fits. Over the course of an unconventional career that has included service, leadership, ministry, and higher education, Scott has held many titles. The one he values most is Professor—a role that allows him to mentor, challenge, and walk alongside others in their own reinvention. He lives in California with his family and continues to write at the intersection of truth, vulnerability, and forward motion.
