Hello and welcome to my author's page. I'm Claudette Chenevert and I'd love to share with you a bit about myself. I began my own stepmom journey in 1990, when I met the man who’d rock my world forever. Though already a mom, I had no idea that adjusting to stepfamily life would turn that world upside down. Lulled by images of “The Sound of Music” and “The Brady Bunch,” I thought it was simple: You get married, bring the kids home and sing a song in perfect harmony. Losing all sense of identity and control, I found myself straddling biological fault lines along which boundaries seemed nonexistent and I was no longer my husband’s No. 1. Hitting rock bottom, I sought therapy. It was there I found a solution. At age 36, as a former hairdresser—with a knack for helping others recognize and be inspired by their beauty within— I went back to school. After graduating with honors, I launched my career as a Stepfamily/Relationship Coach. I am now a Master Certified Stepfamily Foundation Coach and a member of the Int’l. Coach Federation and Int’l. Positive Psychology Association where I specializes in human behavior, communication and relationship dynamics. I have one son, two stepdaughters and seven grandchildren. Me and my husband, Bernard, travel between the U.S. and Canada by RV. I continually share my expertise with a worldwide audience of stepmoms and stepcouples as The Stepmom Coach and am a StepMom Magazine contributor.
